AIRBAS Transportation, Inc. is an American
aviation company
founded in Texas in
June 2002 by
Richard Chichakli and Sergey
Bout with Richard Chichakli as a
President and Director. Headquartered in Richardson, Texas, the company was commissioned as an air
carrier charter operator in Sharjah International Airport Free Zone, the State
of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates and applied for an air operator certificate
under the Civil Aviation law of the UAE. Based in Sharjah International Airport,
the company's primary business was the short to medium-range transportation of
air cargo with limited passengers capability.
Airbas introduced into the aviation industry a new
operation concept in
aircraft leasing and chartering that brought record profit in excess of 35% net within the first years of operation. The company's revenue grew from US
$20,000 in 2002 to nearly eight million dollars by the end of 2003, with expected double
of the revenue in 2004. However, the company was forced to close after the Bush regime alleged that the
company was a front company for Victor Bout; despite that all of Airbas business
was conducted with the US government.
Airbas entered the already crowded aviation market in the UAE with new
operation concept that provided the company with unparallel competitive
advantage and resulted in making Airbas one of the top producers in the region
with market share in excess of 52% within the first year of operations.
The company was owned by Richard Chichakli and Sergey Bout, two of the top
experts in charter airlines and aviation operations. The combined knowledge and
expertise of the owners formed the foundation of the innovative business concept
introduced to the aviation world by Airbas. Richard who is considered to be among the
top financial and marketing planners in aviation world, and Sergey the expert in
aviation operations and who is considered to be among the best fleet managers
worldwide made out of Airbas Transportation a hard to match success story.
