AIRBAS Fleet

The fleet of Airbas Transportation started with five Russian-made aircraft. The fleet consisted of four Ilyushin-18, one Antonov-12,  and one Antonov-26. Later the Yak-42 and Boeing-727 was introduced to the fleet to accommodate the increased demand by the US armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Two of the IL-18s, the AN-26 and the AN-12 were originally acquired by Sergey Bout in 1998 when he split his operation from that of his brother, while the Yak-42 and an additional IL-18 were purchased at the start of business by Airbas. With the beginning of 2003 Airbas added the Boeing 727-200 to its fleet in support of the expanded operations and increased demand.
